Information
------------------------------

Following a first installment that profiled the history of organized crime in New York, AMC moves west to the Windy City to chronicle the rise and fall of iconic gangster Al Capone. From the producer of The Men Who Built America and The World Wars, The Making of the Mob: Chicago documents the emergence of organized crime in Middle America through the rise and fall of iconic gangster Al Capone. From Capone's early days in New York running the streets with Lucky Luciano and Bugsy Siegel, to his prolonged war with the Irish gangs of Chicago and his final battles with Eliot Ness and law enforcement, the series tells the true and full story of the Chicago underworld.
The Making of the Mob: Chicago is an eight-episode docu-drama chronicling the rise and fall of iconic gangster Al Capone, as well as the story of his successors, collectively known as "The Chicago Outfit." Spanning the better part of a century, the series begins with Capone's early days in New York and continues through his move to Chicago - to work with his childhood mentor in the underworld. When Prohibition hits, battles break out as the city's gangs rush to set up bootlegging operations and Capone decides to go up against his rivals. As he consolidates power, he achieves legendary status for his ruthless tactics and over-the-top lifestyle that attracts the wrath of President Herbert Hoover.
Utilizing an immersive blend of dramatic scenes, archival footage and VFX, the series also features interviews with historians, authors, actors, law enment personnel and family members, including: actors Vincent Pastore and Michael Madsen; New York Times best-selling author and Al Capone expert, Jonathan Eig, and former Las Vegas Mayor, Oscar Goodman. The series is produced by Emmy Award-winning production company, Stephen David Entertainment (The World Wars, The Men Who Built America.)

6)  New Blood
While Al Capone is locked up in prison, the empire he left behind is dealing with a new problem-Prohibition has recently been repealed and one of The Outfit's most important sources of income dries up. With Capone cut off from them, his most-trusted men, Frank Nitti, Tony Accardo, and Paul Ricca must keep his organization afloat, and Nitti takes the reins. With thousands of Americans flocking to the theaters, the film industry is raking in millions of dollars a month. So Nitti wants to hold the movie business hostage. In the 1930s, the Chicago mafia tried to get into the Hollywood film business in order to open up new sources of money. Their local man is Willie Bioff. In 1939, Al Capone was released early from prison. But the once powerful gang boss is seriously ill. Responsibility now lies with Tony Accardo and Paul Ricca. They expand the Chicago mafia to Las Vegas.
