It's funny how the current narrative in Australia says that all the various indigenous tribes existed in peace and harmony before white people arrived. They never resorted to tribal warfare. They never stole land, women or food from weaker tribes. They built villages and tilled the land. It was a true utopia. If that was really the case, then I've got to wonder why some tribes chose to reside in desert areas living a marginal existence when they could have easily migrated to the lush coastal areas where food was in abundance. Perhaps they just liked the 45 degree Celsius (113 degrees Fahrenheit) summer temperatures and the poor quality water. Then along came those terrible devil white people who stole their country, killing whole tribes just so they could graze some sheep without having them stolen. |
