Never anything will come remotely close to the Gene Wilder version |
Cover reminds us of a 'Walnut Whip' even though it lks nothing like a 'Walnut Whip', maybe a top hat or velvet chocolate Anyway, got them on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh next to the castle when we were visiting Scotchland Don't think they sell them out here Mid-West |
English audio start to finish. Video is a solid 7 for a cam. The dark parts are a little to dark for my liking. Audio is a solid 9. Really no issues. All in all watchable for the 10 minute intervals that 8 fast forwarded to leave this comment. As for myself, I'm going to wait for Will1869 to do his magic. |
The cover is missing the strap-line 'Every good thing in this world started with a dream' |
Wonka is a prequel as it focuses on a young version of Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka. Both the 1971 and 2005 adaptations of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory focused on a middle-aged version of the character. Almost like Fantastic beasts compared to Harry Potter, they are both different so to compare Wonka to Willy Wonka is just complete nonsense. |
Fantastic beasts was garbage and most shouldn't even consider it in the same universe as Harry Potter, I assume just like this. |
Thought we heard some random Korean talk on the soundtrack but maybe that was just some dude in the movie theater You never can tell these days |
A much better quality copy from a completely different source has just dropped. Here's the filename:- Wonka.2023.English.LD.TS.1080p.x264-REELxSnoopy.mkv One for Will1869 I reckon :-) |
Quality is decent these days for cams! Almost passable for a shitty russian web-dl or the old days of R5 DVD's. V: 8 Some scenes dark but watchable A: 8 Some scenes audio is quiet but listenable |
I just love how people think that comments on a torrent is the right place to argue whether or not a movie should be made and/or compared to its predecessor. Bravo internets. |
alright here again video looks the same as before its still decent quality audio is fully english, no more sudden spanish the quality is good too overall V: 7 A: 8 gonna wait for will's copy too :) |
I'll wait for the good version but thanks to anyone and everyone who puts out early versions. Helps me to decide if Im gonna like a film or not. |
To all the foolish people comparing this to the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, just stop. Simply stop. This is obviously an origin story regarding Willy Wonka. It is much in the vein of Cruella, The Huntsman: Winter's War or the upcoming Maleficent. So to compare them to the original is pointless and dumb. |
That's like saying you can't compare two horror movies because they have different directors. The target audience is primarily made up of people that enjoyed previous iterations, asking them to not compare what they previously enjoyed to this new part of the story is incredibly ridiculous and naive. |
Lol don't be mad at the audience, we didn't choose for this garbage to be made. |
Not a single person actually wants more remakes. Atleast they didn't make Willy Wonka a black lesbian, probably saving all those creative juices for the next remake. Each remake gets further and further from the original story yet they can't come up with an original thought, I won't even bother with this since I loved the original too much. |
Try telling that to my kids (2 and 3 year old) who when given the choice prefer the remakes. For example I try to push the original animated versions of the lion king and little mermaid onto them as they were from my childhood however they aren't interested! Clearly you aren't the target market. |
If your kids don't like the original lion king you've failed as a parent my guy, next you're going to tell me your 2 and 3 year old are choosing their own genders. |
but it's not a remake, it's a prequel. I too love the original. I have a Willy Wonka wall with the casts autographs and I'll collect everything WW I can get my hands on. I was not a fan of the Depp version though. At first I didn't want to see this made but once I saw the first trailer I thought it might be ok. |
