Watched it. A visually mesmerizing and brilliant film. It’s Frankenstein meets The Orphan. It’s insanely engrossing and is layered in character eccentricities and oddities. It’s like a recreation of a Tori Amos song set in the Victorian era. Emma Stone’s character’s has been brought back to life and what comes back is a young woman trying to haphazardly redefine and rediscover herself -all the while wobbling around. There are moments of great fun and the directing is near perfect. For example, the use of black and white with moments of color to contrast time, and wide angle lenses help create incongruity by producing warped visuals. Peculiar set design and eye-catching cinematography provides for a strange and unique world of unpredictability. The film excels based on the directing and acting but ultimately it’s the editing that stands out. The film impeccably edited by the Yorgos Mavropsaridis, his ability to create a smooth structure and transition to this disjointed beast of a film is worthy of attention. Note: The audio is on the CAM recording is awful. |
See how this goes. The Favourite(2018) by the same director and Emma Stone was awesome. |
So many conflicting reviews here... Gonna watch it my self, because it sounds interesting |
Excellent director! Go check out Dogtooth if you havent! Thx TGX Uploader Gang! |
ads and watermarks through out video/audio is like a phone recording from theater |
Wasn't that great of a movie...but emma stone naked in it like 5 times |
At least we now know what you would use her for… |
I was interested until i read "Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation." |
Not ready to accept that we all are equal and who is oppressed will at some point inevitably start to fight for liberation? Seems to me the most logical and natural way of things, but you're not ready to see people either equal or free. |
i saw the trailer of this movie. the Bella Frankenstein movie is is filmed in a fairytale style and i am wondering if there is a message or story in this movie. is this humor, fantasy, horror? no, it's not. i read it's about equality and liberation. maybe that explains why in the clip Bella had to kick one person in the balls and hit another in the face. |
Just for clarification she is a Victorian era woman that died by suicide and brought back to life by a scientist. |
@Guest-4095, @Guest-3458, @Guest-1580: No it doesn't. Nowhere in both plot description above does the word Victorian appears. |
@@Guest-4095, @Guest-3458, @Guest-1580: Furthermore, nowhere in both plot description above does the word Suicide appears. |
