Watched it. What Happens Later is a hard working romantic comedy. The film focuses on 2 former lovers reuniting during downtime at an airport - 25 years after they broke up. Duchovny and Ryan are examples of skillfully honed actors. They provide more than mere pretense for the camera - there is a richness, a chemistry in their acting. It exudes authenticity. Its what an audience wants and deserves in a film. That said, its the story that suffers and stifles the film. These two actors deserve a better script to showcase their talents, notably Duchovny, he has honed his acting chops from the funny to the dramatic over the years. The story may be more suitable as a live theatrical piece. |
A - 10 V-10 Overall film: 5.5/10 Very slow moving. I love Meg and David, but even they couldn't save this from the director. The only other thing I can say is this ... it's depressing watching actors (and us) getting old. |
Cmon, there is no way Meg Ryan looks this good after all the plastic surgery she's messed herself up with, they mustve AI'd the shit out of her for this production - so there's that and this being an absolutely crap story, harking back to you've got mail and so many other over done rom-coms fail fail fail.... |
Yeah! A good romance needs plenty of shooting. Who has ever seen people talking IRL, especially at airports. Usually they being padded down by security. |
Ok - 90s actors in 2020s movie. If we only we had a time-machine... |
David Duchovny is the same age as Tom Cruise (63) yet lks 20 years older than Tom David needs to take a lot better care of himself like Tom obviously does |
AI........ its going to ruin everything in movies first then who knows which is next. Just watch the new Indiana Jones hes AI half of the movie. Bad news for new hopeful actors/actresses in the future the most famous will be able to be in movies after their deaths. |
Can see a time when the 'reviews' on here will be AI-generated but, wait... maybe it has already happened |
Tom is 61 but still 2 years difference is not that big a deal. While tom keeps away from booze / cigs and works out, DD is boozer and smoker and womanizer. Some shit does takes its toll on a person. |
I bet Duchovny is much more fun on a night out than Cruise. |
Thanks love Meg, Be interesting seeing she has directed this. |
2nd movie directed by Meg Ryan. I wish they meet up again at a nicer place other than the boring airport waiting lounge. 3/10 Thanks for sharing this movie. |
Could only get through a little less than halfway through this low budget two actor film. It was like watching ice melt. Only entertaining part was the announcements over the loud speaker - |
Was Tom Hanks too busy to do another rom com with her. And isn't this similar to the story line for when Harry met Sally which she was also in. |
Makes little sense when their names are Wilma and William. |
I agree with Thawne. I like Ryan and Duchovny (specially in their 80s and 90s movies) but this movie is extremely boring. Just common talk at the airport througt the whole movie. |
If you go to a candy store you'll see all kinds of candy, some you like, a lot you do not like at all. The latter are for other customers, clearly not for you. Do you tell the store owner with every single candy you dislike that you do not want it? So why do have the irresistible urge to do just that here every day? |
