| Just one guy's personal opinion... You call it whatever you want in your library. Cool. Since I want my Plex server to be able to match it up to on-line sources for metadata, poster, description and so on - *that's* where naming/number convention matters. | Doctor Who is a mess with the specials being so important to the plot. I currently have it in DVD order which integrates the specials into the episode list. For me, last night's episode is S14E01, this is S00E162 on the default TVDB order Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies has announced that the BBC sci-fi show is overhauling its numbering and naming convention, with Series 14 now officially known as Season 1. |

| Not exactly. Its not about "overhauling the numbering system". They shifted to "Season 1" because of the Disney+ distribution. Disney didn't want a bunch of blow back from subscribers seeing "Season 14" without having the rest of the previous 13 seasons in their catalog for binging. |

| This WAS a very special episode of Doctor Who and MOST enjoyable indeed. Certainly MORE enjoyable than the last incarnation of the Doctor. I had about given up all hope of ever enjoying Doctor Who again. So looking forward to the next special episode. I hope they release this on 4K UHD disc. Day One buy for me! |
