Excellent colourisation of a crappy B+W video tape. Its a pity, though, that the production team did not include all 7 full length episodes of the original for this story.
One thing, aminechap, if your the one doing the transcoding, you need to include "-vf "decimate=cycle=2" on the command line ". This will drop every second frame when transcoding from interlaced to progressive 50fps to 25fps .
Example: $ ffmpeg -hide_banner -i "Doctor Who 1963-1996 Season 1 - 04 The Daleks in Colour.mkv -map 0 -map_metadata -1 -c:v libx265 -x265-params "aq-mode=3" -preset 6 -crf 25 -vf "decimate=cycle=2" -c:a copy -c:s copy output-file-h²⁶⁵.mkv'

 | Thank you so much! Question: the filename is "Doctor Who 1963-1996 Season 1 - 04 The Daleks in Colour". Why the "04"? It was the second serial and started with the 5th overall episode. Is this a mistake or some other numbering I'm unaware of. |
