I'm just glad that they didn't get a black woman to play Napoleone. Gonna be a great watch, but I will wait for a better quality version. |
Seriously @ThatDutchGuy why would they get get a black woman to play Napoleone (WoW) now iv'e read everything |
Does anyone know roughly when the non cam, better version will arrive here please? |
Seriously @Guest-2891 why would they not get a black woman to play Napoleone (WoW) have you not seen a hollyweird movie lately? now iv'e read everything |
@Guest-2891: Black actress Jodie Turner-Smith as Anne Boleyn https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13406036/ who was White https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Boleyn. Black actress Sophie Okonedo as Queen Margaret of Anjou https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2262456/ who was White https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_of_Anjou |
@Guest-2891: Yet there was no outrage by the Black community over those castings. But imagine if a White actor or actress was cast as Rosa Parks and Malcom X and Martin Luther King Jr, there will be outrage, boycotts, and riots by the Black community. That's called Double Standard. |
@Guest-2891: Whitewashing is not allowed and acceptable but Blackwashing is allowed and accepted because it's done for diversity. |
Very watchable for a cam, however, about 30 or so mins in, the camera man is eating popcorn and crunching about. -_- |
joaquin was bad choice and he is playing idk what, some awkward old guy gamer...napoleon was young soldier rise from nothing to emperor,he was unstoppable followed by thousands and thousands of ppl, pointless movie... |
On a historic note: When Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo, most of the powers of Europa thought Wellington was doomed for defeat. England was going broke, because of the war and many rightly believed Napoleon was on his way to victory. However, Napoleon made a critical error which cost him the war and his empire, during the midst of the conflict, he announced he would eradicate usury from Europa, as it was a cancer on European civilization. The Rothschild family got wind of this and poured its financial resources into the coffers of England , which helped turn the tide of the war and also helped gain them one of the largest windfalls in financial history plus majority ownership of the Bank of England. How Mayer Rothschild played the financial institutions of Europa during this conflict I'll leave it for those interested to research themselves. |
The Rothschilds got involved mainly because of the "Infamous Decree" but you're spot on abt everything else. |
Watched it. Phoenix reminds me of the character Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd. His face – it has range - it makes him a great character actor. For example, in The Joker, he can transverse emotions simultaneously - devastatingly sad to brutal anger all in the flick of an eye or a devious smile. Unfortunately, his skillfulness cannot save the film from being devoid of imagination, inspiration, and enthusiasm. The writing strains his ability to excel as the titular character. Ridley provides powerful visuals and a wonderful female lead in Kirby. The film, at times, drags, the story could have been tighter and the run time could have been shortened. |
scr 4 - baroque karen having a meltdown at the local l'emperur-mart |
Ive been looking forward to this movie and watching Joaquin's performance, so i will be waiting for the best version to become available! |
I'll wait for the directors cut version is available to stream |
A watchable cam. The movie itself is very meh. Not offensively bad like some recent Marvel offerings, just very slow and not very flattering to Napoleon. |
Never trust a brit to portray Napoleon accurately.. let alone Hollywood. |
@Guest-1811 Joaquin Phoenix is a brit? First time I'd ever heard that! LOL! |
