Thank you GalaxyRG for a great torrent A/V is high quality, but shame the same can't be said for the movie. This is a mediocre/poor horror, with mostly mediocre acting (Sarah McGuire; Paige Maria), but Laurie Catherine Winkel as Judith was pretty poor. Given that men account for a hugely disproportionate number of domestic violence (including partner homicide) offenders (Decker, 2018; Spencer and Stith, 2020), then getting a "father figure to the boy" would be statistically more likely to get a woman and child killed than staying in a lesbian relationship. But I'll never convince an irrationally anti-queer "bunch of dudes" that data has the edge over prejudice. If Amy had been in a heterosexual relationship, I could well imagine the usual commenters on this site claiming that it was "yet another men=bad movie". But refreshingly, we have a female antagonist (Judith). So, of course, this is whined about as a "plot device". The point is both moot, and rather silly. The next option of course, is to refer to homosexuality as "not normal" in some way. In the United States, with a population pf about 340,528,053 (https://www[dot]worldometers[dot]info/world-population/us-population), Satista (https://www[dot]statista[dot]com/statistics/719674/american-adults-who-identify-as-homosexual-bisexual-or-transgender/), estimate about 7.2% as LGBTQ+. That's about 24,518,020 at a minimum, almost certainly more given that many individuals won't want to subject themselves to the attitudes of "dudes" and their ilk (Roughgarden, 2017). This is -- ultimately -- a poor movie, but could have been much better with better performances. Thanks anyway GalaxyRG Much appreciated as always References Decker, David J. (2018). Thank you for a very good and informative review and some facts as well 😉👍 and thank you TG 👍 |
Jesus lady, your opinions are bleeding all over the floor. Im sry u had such a hard time being lesbian and whatever men made u hate all men so much. Best wishes from a dude. |
Oh 3787, the only "opinions" I've expressed above are about the movie, the rest is data-based empirical research... and I don't hate "all" men, many are quite nice... others are best served with some some fava beans and a nice chianti |
anyone who willingly calls themselves a conservative or liberal is someone to avoid listening to at all costs |
Guests 3787, 5962: You're both off topic and attacking users personally. Is that what you think this movie comment section is for? Social media has been invented for the likes of you. Go there please. |
LiberalLesbo thanks for the great post. I give thanks to the uploader. Guest-5962 FIXED IT: anyone who willingly calls themselves a conservative is someone to avoid listening to at all costs. |
Thank You GalaxyRG For A Great Torrent A/V Is High Quality And Keep Up All The Good Upload You Do Sir |
Could give two shits about politics...I am as left/liberal/socialist as they come. Bottom line the film is simply mediocre as hell. Terrible acting....bad film making all around. |
i think this would normally be called "woke" for having lesbians in a ridiculous plot, but with it being about an abusive relationship that is unfortunately pretty accurate to reality as lesbian relationships have some of the highest rates of abuse. politically speaking its addressing an actual issue which is good. |
killdozer >> If you could send me the links to recent, primary, evidence-based research, published in reputable, peer-reviewed journals (see my post above), that supports your claim with regard to lesbian relationships, I would much appreciate it, thanks |
LiberalLesbo >> https://mainweb-v.musc.edu/vawprevention/lesbianrx/factsheet.shtml But I think you're missing the point. Abuse should relate to an "intimate partner" and not a specific gender or sex. Focus on the differences & that's all you'll see. People do shitty things, not genders. |
3471; (i) The text you refer to is an "essay" at best by Dr. Rose, using 30+ year old sources. (ii) I completely agree, but killdozer was making a point intended to belittle same-sex female partnerships. Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is far more complex than can be fully discussed here. |
We don't have the homosexual people. We hate the homosexual act because it goes against what god has created for men & women. Men & Women were created to procreate & keep their marriage bond sacred & clean. Men & Women wasn't created for sinful hurtful lustful desires outside of the marriage bond. |
And this personal belief, based on zero evidence whatsoever, is the only point you can bring to the discussion. One that can be dismissed on the grounds of having no factual basis whatsoever |
your right just like we were not created to judge others so preach out of one lip while sinning out the other ... you can lead a horse to water but your not going to whip him for not drin, king its called free will ... your tolerance of free will speaks measures to where your going |
NEWS FLASH all gods and religions were created by man to control man. Nature by design made men and women to love who they love PERIOD. |
No need to watch this LGBT propaganda after reading the plot. In fact these days with the majority of movies they should put a warning on the cover or give a viewer discretion advice so that unsuspecting normal folks know what kind of abomination they are walking into beforehand. And that is my two cents under the freedom of speech. |
And I would defend your right to spout such a complete and utter failure of fact, evidence, reason, ethics, and current standards of morality. But do not expect people NOT to point out when your statement is worse than simply ignorant. |
If you didn't watch it how can you review it you doughnut |
And that says exactly what your "reviews" are worth. |
Is a Joke 1250 geez. It just shows how bad the movie is. My Review is worthless just like the movie. LOL You figured it out doughnut. When you see 1/10 & 10/10 reviews you know it's a Stinker. Just common knowledge nowadays. |
Well, in that case ALL movies are stinkers, because they all get ones and tens. You even see it here: where one says the movie sucks, another says it was quite enjoyable. Aside from the obvious trolls that's because we all have different tastes. One remedy: trust your own judgment. It's the only trustworthy one. |
Your review is then as irrelevent as you, as each comment you make is pathetic, much like you, please delete this jerks comment(s) I can risk losing points if it gets his rubbish off 👍 |
Thanks for all the nice comments guys. I appreciate it. Keep it up. |
@ToeCutter: Never mind the bollocks, bro! Almost everyone's a little too uptight in this movie's entire thread, and it's truly unnecessary. I knew it was a joke the moment I read it, and I thought it was hilarious! Obviously, there was no harm meant by it, as in some of the other posts. Keep on rockin', dude! |
Thanks GuitarTroy. I'm glad somebody is nice round here. At least somebody knew what I was trying to say. The lot of them must be mean little kiddos that hold a magnifying glass on an ant pile. 🤣 You do know what a ToeCutter is?👣 |
So if Amy is on the run from an abusive ex-girlfriend, (not boyfriend), that means she is a L. Why the need for that plot device? |
Jesus if it was her running from her abusive boyfriend you would call it misandrist. There's no pleasing some people. |
To make visible that couples, regardless of their gender or sexual choices can be abusive to each other, it doesn't always have to be a "boyfriend". |
This is Hollowood. Either u are alphabet people, or u r out. I stopped wondering |
This place is so heavily LGBTxyz and it garners no disagreement with their agenda. I will get -1 points whatver that means and my comment likely deleted. I am just some dude being hetero cuz it is what hetero dudes do. The movie? Hard pass. Nope, not my thang. Hope they can make their $40k nut back on this flop. |
@dude, Im as straight as they come. 22 yrs of happy marriage and 7 kids. But don't care what someone else their preferences are. It's their own choice and I have nothing to say about that. That is what straight guys do and should do. |
If Amy was straight would that be a plot device? Of course not; the abusive ex is. So we're left with you asking why a lead character is not straight, again. Behind this thin veil lies homophobia. And reasoning that having an ex-girlfriend 'means she is a L'? No veil can prevent the escape of parochial hot air. |
@Mafketel. It's their choice. Correct. Hollywood shoving it down our throats as if it's the normality in the world is what everyone is upset about. It's an extremely small percentage in the world, in the communities, yet it's represented in nearly every movie and TV series. That is not normal. |
If Amy was straight would that be a plot device? Of course not; the abusive ex is. So we're left with you asking why a lead character is not straight, again. Behind this thin veil lies h•m•phobia. And reasoning that having an ex-girlfriend 'means she is a L'? That's just the discharge of par•chial hot air. |
Guest-3960: if Amy was straight it would never have mentioned and you will still have a movie. There is no need to imply Amy was/is a Lesbian to still have a movie. |
"I am just some dude being hetero cuz it is what hetero dudes do". Good for you. I'm one of the "alphabet people" being alphabet, cuz that's what we do. We may be a small percentage, but we are just as normal as your majority. Minorities are not "abnormal" for being minorities. When will you get that? |
@ Mafketel. I completely agree. Except for me it is 20 and 5 (1 before marriage) 1 transgender(Male to Female) and 1 lesbian. With my kids it is all for one and one for all. The movie, however, is poorly made and acted. 4.3? That is generous. More like 3.3. |
So people know what to expect as some people can't accept the situation, so they say so those sort of people know what to expect. And judging by some of the comments a few people here. |
You know, I was sitting here wondering when yet another dude would post yet more opinion based on their own ill-informed prejudices. Seems like at least 2 minutes since I was exposed to their agenda. Yeah, hard pass on the dudes |
"Amy, a young woman is on the run with her young son Adrian from her abusive ex-girlfriend." If Amy were a heroine she would get a bf to be a father figure to the boy and a protector from the whackjob lesbian. Poor Adrian is gonna need a full time shrink when he grows up. Another poorly made flop dressed up in a hot button topic to try and appear gritty, daring, fierce or whatever the cool kids are calling it today. Hard pass. |
Yeah, I hear ya', but you forgot to latch onto, "But where's the father? typical stereotype as well. |
Your homaphobic comment is also a hard pass, it's obvious she doesnt want a " bf to be a father figure" she want a non abusive women. Get into the world as it is now 👍 |
True. Albeit you omit the w0k3 option: He could go w0k3 and dress-up like a gurl Isn't this the goal? Seriously |
No Guest-4309, one cannot possibly "go w0k3 by dressing up like a girl". Learn what a word means before you feel the urge to use it. |
4309/2128: How do girls dress exactly? I'm a 31 year-old woman... I have tee-shirts, sweatshirts, jeans, combats, shorts, mini-dresses, skirts, gowns, pant suits, a rugby kit, karate gi, an Eeyore onesie and a Zatanna costume (don't ask ) |
Maybe you should check your facts before EVER posting. FACT gay households are on average more stable and loving than their counterparts. |
