Watched it. The movie is basically another low-budget enterprise designed to populate streaming service catalogs and give the illusion of content. Does it serve its purpose? Yes. Is it a good movie? Depends I guess. It's experimental and might appeal to certain people. Just not for me. |
Did you watch it? Somehow I really don't think you did. Low budget, maybe, but when does that make a movie not good? What "purpose" did you think the movie served? |
I watched it. It starts ok, lulls for a lot of the movie, then gives a twist, but over all clumsy and rather ham-fisted |
This movie isn't even half as bad as some of the braindead commenters are making it out to be. Very watchable. I've seen MUCH worse being pushed hard. "No One Will Save You" sucked complete ass, and yet I see it praised and pushed everywhere. If you like movies like "The Platform" this one will be up your alley. V/9 A/10 |
Ad we got another .... Yawn. Stupid AI plot. Now only need stupid AI actors |
The only Lil that was any good on screen was Lilo Lil, in the seminal '80's sitcom called "Bread", aired in the UK. |
Dont think theres any TNA here, and nothing else to grab my attention, so pass. |
So what's the moral message of this movie? That a person of color is enslaved into forced labor and he is yearning to break free of his chains and gain his freedom and his dignity? |
Seems a reasonable question. The guy is black/darl brown, he is being forced to work a grist mill like an oxen. Who in similar circumstnces would not wish for a set of boltcutters and a Lambowith which to ease on down the road in style and comfort. |
If that's what you take to be a "moral message", jaxe, you obviously have no idea what the words "moral" and "message" mean. |
Oh here you go again bringing the "colour" thing into it? Cant you you get past the fact that movies have people of other colour and nationalities in them now. Also try watching it, or dont you like the ethnicity of the lead character? |
I honestly don't know why everyone gives Jaxe such a hard time. He summarized the movie quite well for the limited number of words he used. As for bringing the "Colour" thing into it, it is a major part of the story, it would not be so impactful if it was some white guy chained and enslaved, we would all be like, Meh. |
I believe the moral of the film is to never cast Lil Rel in anything, ever again. |
@tosgravely: Especially, since NOBODY should EVER dub themselves Lil Rel! LOL! What a goofy thing to call yourself; unless, of course, his parents named him Lil. And his middle name, Rel. Then it would be a dumb move by his parents. Lil Rel "Something." I wonder what his surname is. Any guesses? |
@GuitarTroy You realize he's a junior, right? Lil Rel" is like saying Rel Junior. |
@GuitarTroy I stand corrected. I knew he was a Jr, and figured that's where he got his name, but a quick google search says "Playing high school basketball, he reminded people of his older cousin Darrel, and was nicknamed Lil Rel" Maybe he just respects his cousin and likes the nickname? Name bashing is dumb as fuck. |
