! question, not about music or brilliant pink floyd but, why does "search" appear to be "resting" or taking a "nap" for a verrrrrrrry looooong time? just asking, seems odd. John |
Since I have been a fan since Piper, and saw them in a Movie Theatre their first tour, I'm gonna have to check this anyway. Roger seems to have followed Syd and gone off some kind of deep end, but still gonna check. Dissing prior to investigation is just as bad as madness. |
Every one a critic Pink Floyd have given us a way to view the world through their eye's. Love or hate them, they don't care. For me, my eye's have opened. I will listen and decide for myself, but will thank them anyway, cos I love em. |
Roger did The pro's and Cons of Hitch Hiking - 4.5 - 5.0/10 - A fair bit of waffle Radio Kaos - easy 7.5 Amused to Death - with the help of Jeff Beck - 11.5/10 AWESOME. If you haven't heard it, hunt it down. Ca Ira - Opera in 3 Parts - Why???? Then he did......I this the life we really want? - 2.0/10 - I have still not made it to the end of the album. Roger has some serious issues |
I read a pretty glowing review then downloaded. UGH. What kind of spoken word nonsense is he trying to accomplish? Deleted. |
Dark Side of the Moon was an album that virtually changed the music industry introducing for the first time a "theme album. It was pure genius. But as a long time Pink Floyd fan, I'd say that Roger Waters was the least talented in the group. I'll give this a listen but don't expect much. |
The reason the original DSOTM was so successful was because of the input from Dave, Nick and Richard. Roger, left to his own devices has produced a much parred down version of the original, with an added dialog and no dynamics. If this would have been the original release would it have been as successful, probably not buy still an interesting version. |
I am shocked. This album is pure shit. Roger has lost his mind. Pity. |
Somewhere. In a distant, but similar timeline. There's a version of this world as we know it, but Roger, David, Richard, Nick and Bob are all still friends. Friends and bandmates. They're sitting around a picnic table on a back patio somewhere picking at the food on their plates, sipping on a beer, laughing about one of the tracks on their recent double album - the 18th of their career spanning over 50 years as a band. The screendoor bangs open, too heavy on its hinges... 'Anyone for more potatoes?' Syd asks, stepping back outside... |
In that timeline as well, John Hinkly Jr succeeded, and Thatcher had a heart attack. But I'm afraid that timeline got pruned a LONG time ago. |
