the first 40 seconds of the trailer hurt my heart so i don't know if i could make it all the way through the entire film. as someone who has had dogs since early childhood, i've learned many times over that a dog's love is really the only love you can count on no matter what. no ulterior motives, no self-interest, no machinations. just utter loyalty and love. if i can get through the film i'll come back and give my review here and on imdb (where it scores 6.4 at present, no reviews posted yet). thank you galaxyrg for posting this. |
"no ulterior motives, no self-interest, no machinations" ??? lmao my dog is a manipulative little sh*t |
I find it difficult to re-watch the first John Wick for that reason: the pup gets killed. Even though I love the series. |
I'm sorry but if you cant watch a dog get FAKE KILLED in a movie but you can watch humans get FAKE KILLED in movies then you are just weird, The movie is good and worth watching because of the revenge he got FAKE KILLING the people that FAKE KILLED his dog. |
and we wonder why a guy like Justin 'woke' Trudeau can be elected 12 years in row and no,a pet is NOT a child.... |
I feel very privileged in having a retired police dog as a best friend when I was a kid. He was awesome. I'd throw a stick and he'd come back with a log. He was very obedient - I could tell him to sit, and he would stay sat until told otherwise. He would snuggle up with me when I was sad and I felt very safe when he was around. Far better friend than any human I've had. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. |
Awwwwww I love your story very much, I know exactly how you feel with your dog, I however have only had cats but I know how you feel exactly about humans and animals, All the best |
If you throw a girl he came back with a MILF. |
I wonder if this is trying to be John Wick-esque? Either way, Thanks Galaxy! |
Question: Can and do animals feel emotion as humans do, or do they see humans as mere providers and humans project their desire to be 'loved' by their pets? |
Dogs are pack animals, so they will see you as part of their pack, so they are attached to you. "Happy hormones" are even released in their brain when they see their owner, which is the scientific explanation for love. As to emotions, all living creatures feel the same primitive emotions, such as joy, anger, fear, etc |
Dogs have THREE emotions: excitement, love and excitement |
If you need to ask that question you need to interact with animals more. |
Brain scans show dogs experiencing far more sophisticated emotions than previously thought. https://www.wired.com/2014/02/dog-brains-vocal-processing/ This is just one study of many. Their bond is often unbreakable even by death: https://youtu.be/A0_Gx9qR_pY?si=LZ4XRUNcwYSL688l |
I have owned a few dogs. Yeah, they have emotions. They have a limited vocabulary much like a 3 yr old human child. They can't talk back which is a blessing most likely. They always love the one who feeds them regularly the most. |
Just wanted to give an update. I thought the movie was actually pretty good. Maybe not great, but it was good and worth the watch. Most times I find IMDB can be a good tool and I find the ratings fairly accurate. The IMDB rating is 5.5/10, I would rate it higher and give it 6.5/10 |
Preview looks good. It's got good cops, a bad cop, crims & doggies. Cheers uploader |
Wondering where Aaron Eckhart's been! probably went back to Indie movies, In the Company Of Men will always be his best performance! |
Dog movies are cool. If you want to watch a sad dog movie...watch Hachiko : A Dogs Story. I dont care who you are, the movie will make you cry. |
After John Wick didn't any one learn not to kill the fucking dog. |
Watched it recently. The first 3 quarters of the movie are good, although a bit slow. But the last quarter, after he talks to the old trainer, are bad, like really bad. Writers nowadays don't know what to do to end a story. Always fail to deliver a good ending. |
I gave this movie maybe 40 mins, I tried to like it but after a good start it quickly faded to a snooze fest. |
