1304. Plague and disorder ravage Florence.
A small party of young men and women escape
into the country. There they pass the time by
telling scandalous stories to one another.

This production consists dramatisations of
about twenty of these stories. You'll probably
know some of them in other guises - such as
in the plot of 'Entertaining Mr Sloane'.

Worth reading The Decameron's introduction for
Boccaccio's eyewitness account of the impact of
the plague on Florence - echoes of Thucydides'
account of the Athenian plague.
