 | Taken is a classic, so many memes are based on it. A movie almost everyone knows. This one is not gonna be that iconic, reminds me "The Ice Road (2021)" where Liam plays a truck driver, not a bad movie but nothing special either. |

| That is true. It would be very funny if there was a well written 5 minute skit of his life in which this was NOT actually drama/film/entertainment, but his actual life. Not the violence aspects, just that his actual life is always needing to do something for someone else, or else, and he is constantly fighting back. |

| 3rd Remake of the Spanish movie "El Desconocido" (2015) which is way much better than this one (but it´s free to watch, so...). Then they made a German remake, "Steig. Nicht. Aus!" (2018) and then a South Korean remake, "Balsinjehan" (2021). We live in the Remakes world. And now "Retribution" (2023) from the U.S. |

 | Very suspenseful movie, but the acting is really terrible. Neeson, the kids, the guy on the phone, they all suck in this flick. The only decent acting is done by Embeth Davidtz who plays Neesom's wife. I think i'm gonna try and find the original movie that this one was based on, called El Desconocido, and watch it. See if it has better acting. |

| Totally agree with your review, and frustrating to to watch. But as you said good bit of suspense but acting and some dialogue a bit bad. Worth a watch if you like the Neeson movies and a bit of suspense. |
