"2001" is a story of evolution. Sometime in the distant past, someone or something nudged evolution by placing a monolith on Earth (presumably elsewhere throughout the universe as well). Evolution then enabled humankind to reach the moon's surface, where yet another monolith is found, one that signals the monolith placers that humankind has evolved that far. Now a race begins between computers (HAL) and human (Bowman) to reach the monolith placers. The winner will achieve the next step in evolution, whatever that may be.

Concern has been expressed that the original UHD HDR release was good enough, and this release's benefits are moot.
To demonstrate the differences, see pictures below.
You need a capable TV to appreciate the differences. But all I have done is cleanup, denoise and sharpen.
Notice the shade of the red of the sofas, and the texture of cloth, edge definition, before and after. Also the general noise.

 | Oh-wow! A huge difference! Many of users would have not noticed the very clear (pun not intended) image results. But the side-by-side images (which the uploader should do very often) clearly shows that this Ai reconstruction is much more superior, easily. Film grain (which is just awful very tiny pepper-looking crap sprayed on a film, IMO) is very subjective to the viewer(s) and saying that film grain is an "artistic choice" is ALL the studios had back-in-day on relic CRT displays. And knowing that ANCIENT fact should NOT be the rule for today's QD-OLEDs, MicroLED, ect. technologies today, IMO. |

 | I dont know what "as it should be" means. I used tbe official studio UHD HDR release (85GB) and gently cleaned it up. It is still UHD HDR! just a little crisper, a little cleaner, a little more vibrant , a little . . . |

My work is to help to get the best picture on a modern capable TV set. I filter away grain, noise and compression artefacts. I alter! |
