Guess could relate in some ways from working in an office environment where I waited to get my own office space since I worked IT and needed workspace. Unlike the movie I did get one, without windows, more like a walk in closet That only lasted a year until I couldnt take it. I think the Swedish author was trying to also demonstrate the eventual psychosis that one could experience working the 9-5 rat race in a corporate structure where everything seems stagnant because nothing changes/improves because everyone just follows the template like drones. Also might be influenced by vinterdepression aka SAD:Seasonal Affective Disorder, Cabin Fever, which is relatable since also being in the upper Northern hemisphere where the winters start from Oct/Nov till Apr. Many months coming into work in the dark, working in the dark, & leaving in the dark does have an eventual toll... even my dogs werent too happy with that schedule. Guess that explained the burnout/departure lol |
Nice analysis. I really enjoyed the movie. I'd agree that it may not be for everyone, though. |
half an hour in and yawning intensely; reminds me of joseph heller's 'something happened', except that nothing is happening... |
this story much better if the door is real and more mystery and scifi but no just lame ending! |
that would just be a .different. story rather than a .better. story. sure, it could be worse or as good or better. so.. i disagree with you. (i do like that kind of film or book that you describe) |
This is a good movie in the way that it tricks you the ENTIRE TIME into thinking it's maybe gonna twist and be good. But FFFF NO, IT JUST SUCKS! Every minute they had another opportunity to make it not suck. But like the Lakers looking for a high draft.... it seemed to INTENTIONALLY continue to suck! |
That is exactly my opinion of that novel. Joseph Heller should've been sued for false advertising. |
I liked it for a change, if your attention span isn't ruined it's worth a try |
This is a glimpse into the future of film making. This was clearly written by an AI. |
initially i wanted to agree, but then why would john hamm agree to be in it, looking and acting so ridiculous and meaningless? |
this is a book to film transfer. author info: "Sven Bert Jonas Karlsson is a Swedish (b.1971) actor and author. He won a Guldbagge Award for Best Actor in 2004 for the movie Details. He published his first book, a collection of short stories, in 2007. Novels: The Room (2015), The Invoice (2016), The Circus (2019)" |
Lets make a film that its not interesting at all and let them try to figure out why we did it. |
