Wow! Immediately puffed up nostalgia, I remember watching the first and second part, at that time the speed of these strikes and the brilliance of Master Yip, was for me something with something, thanks for the giveaway |
@ woods75462 and bigboy12 thankyou. My brother is a fan of both Scott Adkins and Donnie Yen. |
Ip Man was very against Donnie Yen portraying him. He was concerned that Donnie Yen would not portray his martial art correctly, and made them promise that only Wing Chun would be used by Yen in any film shot. Of course that only held true for the filming of the first few scenes, then Yen started using his own techniques whenever the pace sped past his ability to reflexly use Wing Chun. At that point, I heard lawyers got involved, and Ip Man could not stop production. I also heard Ip Man wanted one of his own students to portray him, so the art would be done correctly. As I have watched all of these films I have noticed Yen using many techniques that are not Wing Chun. |
You must be talking abt one of his sons, Ip Ching or Ip Chun. Ip Man died back in the early seventies. |
