It's funny how many people who take issue with religion ever being mentioned in any context, have a cultish devotion to the socio-political garbage spewed forth by social media. This isn't a religious film, it's a film that examines religion, as well as coming-of-age and sexuality. The book it's based on is 53 years old, and is very famous. |
8392, correct. The proper thing to do is understand that this isn't religious propaganda forcing religion down the viewer's throat. It is a study. It is strange how some are so quick to jump at announcing their hatred of religion before they even stop to research what the movie is truly purporting. |
guess this is what happens when you ban books... hell I'm a guy & I read the whole series when I was a kid lol.. still trying to see this religious perspective.. |
Is she famous or something? Guessing it's an American and/or religious inside thing, that's where Deadpool got it from. |
It's only based on a fifty year old book by a lady that was born the year after my Mom was, in 1938. Do a lttle research instead of spewing hate straight away. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Are_You_There_God%3F_It's_Me,_Margaret. |
Movie is good, CAM is bad, wait for different CAM or wait for digital release. |
I think this movie is going to be halarious. I've seen commercials, and the song those girls sing "We must, we must, we must increase our busts". . LMAO |
A hard pass would be ignoring it altogether... like it never happened. What you did, make a moot point and then tell everyone your opinion on it... that's more of a really super soft pass. |
Hey Jaxe!! Its your old friend NatD :) This was our English Setwork Book in Grade 4 or 5 like 500 years ago and for a girl growing up - this book was iconic! All the girls were walking around going "I MUST...I MUST...I MUST INCREASE MY BUST!" Will def watch if only for nostalgia! |
I'm not a fan of religion, either, but this isn't religious propaganda. This film is just a "slice of life" type that sets out to analyze numerous facets of childhood/growth/relationships and how religion plays a role. No one is trying to convince anyone else to believe anything. That's not the goal of this "study." |
