Just a little note about queer characters in movies, before and in case this section turns into another bout of fun and games. No character in a movie is going to groom a queer person straight, they're not going to make a straight person queer either (unless just some folk are heading that way already maybe ). We are who we are, but the next time someone makes a foolish, bigoted complaint about a queer character in a movie, let us think about this woman, talking about growing up as a queer teen: "I used to always watch movies with queer representation to gauge how people around me were feeling about it. When Santana and Brittany would make-out on Glee, I'd carefully watch the way those around me reacted to it." — Mia, 21. Source: Orenstein, H., and Bennett, W. (2017, November 13). 30 Girls Get Real About Coming Out. Seventeen: Being an LGBTQ teen. https[colon]//www[dot]seventeen[dot]com/love/a39965/girls-coming-out-stories/ Some of you have kids; stop and think about them for a moment. If they are secretly questioning their sexuality, what damage could an ill-informed comment do to someone you're supposed to love? A bigoted reaction, says more about the mind of the person making it, than it does about anything else. As usual, if anybody wants to take me up on anything, message me, we can talk respectfully to each other and exchange perspectives the way we can't in the comments section. |
Problem is, LiberalLesbo, these people don't think. They have made up their mind and they want everyone else to have the exact same mind, their own children included. Not just about this subject, about everything in life. Regardless of the consequences for anyone, ignorantly enough themselves in the first place. |
Thank you GalaxyRG, this is a pretty cool movie. A/V is great, acting is not Oscar-level, but a huge way better than most budget horrors. The story is engaging and characters are well-written. The scene where the mother opens her daughter's bedroom door unannounced is pretty funny and realistic Mr. J's previous little entry is about as wrong on all levels (except the actresses years of birth), as it is possible to get; but no surprises for anyone there. In all, it's a nice little horror, no gory, jaw-slackening special effects--this isn't Hellraiser--it relies on the characters, the acting (including the supporting cast), and the story, and in doing so, makes for an entertaining watch. Thanks again GalaxyRG |
Gay agenda alert. Theaters are dying. One can be assured that the flood of woke movies is not helping their bottom line. Go woke, go broke. The appx 3% they pander to is gonna see them go the way of the malls. Maybe they can turn the old buildings into homeless camps. |
Oh my poor, tremulous little dud Life must be scary for you when your masculinity is so fragile that you feel threatened by a little celluloid fantasy. Oh, and the queer stat's you're looking for are between 7 & 10%, with Gen' Z running at almost 21% in the US alone (Statista, 2022); do a bit of reading duddy |
These movies do not only pander to the lgbtqia+ community, but also to a lot of other people who do not have an a priori aversion for everything not straight binary and preferably also white, christian and conservative. In other words, far, far more than three percent. |
Hilarious: someone complaining on a torrent site that movie theatres are dying… |
First few lines of the first review I found on IMDB "Attachment is a Queer horror film steeped in Jewish folklore written and directed by Gabriel Bier GislasonIt in his feature-length film debut. At the center of the film's narrative is a love-at-first-sight romance between a Danish former actress and a Jewish academic from London. " The 3 actresses listed on IMDB were born in 1968, 1987, 1990. If you gonna make a movie about women loving women, at least make it worth watching by casting some 20 something Instagram models looking hotties and not old women where gravity is catching up to them and passing them by. |
Yours negative as always, latest IMDB - "A Clever and Punchy Little Horror Film This film was an incredibly enjoyable and engaging watch, and really fun to see in the cinema. A beautiful example of claustrophobic family horror, it manages to balance tension and emotional stakes while still being funny and charming". |
You had me laughing so hard, bro! |
