Thank you for this! I read the books in high school, and this looks like it'll be a more faithful adaptation than the Lestat series was. |
Thank you TGxTV for another great share A/V excellent as always I've read and re-read a lot of Anne Rice, The Witching Hour not as much as some. I was never that engaged by the story or the characters, -- sad to say -- it seems no different for the TV show. I don't think this is as faithful an adaptation of the books as the Lestat series either; for example, Michael's character was pretty central to the books but not so in the show, and Lasher was an ethereal being that was beautiful to both men and women (I can't help but feel that Jack Huston isn't right for that role). Nevertheless, time -- and watching -- will tell, rather than just passing comment based on hearsay and third-party reviews. The female characters were always going to be the mainstay of Rice's Mayfair Witches, and they seem to be well-cast and effective in their roles; Alexandra Daddario as Rowan appeals to me on so many levels. Production values and narrative are top-notch, in all -- especially if you have no preconceptions based on the books -- this was a rather nice witchy drama, and I'll be downloading a few more episodes before I really make up my mind on whether it's a keeper or not. Thanks again TGxTV your efforts are much appreciated |
under rated good thing about Daddario... is that she can actually ACT. |
A much better plot twist would've been, when she gets mad, she kills with her... More appropriate to the delectable Daddario. |
