| Dont expect a war movie. Its a drama. Out of 2h 19m runtime maybe 10 min is action. The Devotion is to his wife, not the war. |

| stop the lieing dude, an hour in is when the war action started, it was light as this was a Navy-Air themed conflict. still a pretty good true story of a unknown 1st, again. |

 | With everyone here getting upset whether this movie is "woke" or not, the thing that bothers me is the glorification of U.S. military imperialism and how 20% of the Korean population was killed in that war where the U.S. bombed the entire country to rubble, Just like Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria, the U.S. had no business being a violent force in Korea. But go on with your silly culture war quarrels while real people die by real bombs being dropped on them as the U.S. military industrial complex makes record profits. |

 | The director did a fantastic job of balancing the amount of actual fighting time with the amount of time to tell the story of the main character. It starts off feeling a little "top gun" but moved to the uniqueness of the time period after WW2 and the Korean War. Many of the pilots earned their wings after WW2 ended and haven't seen fighting before. In addition to presenting a view into the forgotten war in Korea, it also focuses on a black pilot. Jesse is the only black man in the group of aviators in the movie and through the dialogue viewers are reminded of the differences in his path and that of the white pilots. |

| after all the buid up, interviews with the actors etc, i really looked forward to it. but for me it fell short, to be fair, not that much combat shown, more about the eara and family. where as the battle scenes were well done, they only made up 5% of the movie. granted he and the others are a not talked about bit of history, but i didnt see one pilot better thaan the next. |
