Caleb vive in Galilea ai tempi di Gesù e si arrabatta con qualche furtarello e facendosi passare per mago. Per caso si trova a un banchetto di nozze e vede Gesù trasformare l'acqua in vino e pensa subito di aver trovato un concorrente più abile di lui. Riesce a rubare una collana per poi perderla e trova Deborah con cui dividerà la vita. Sempre affascinato dalla figura del Cristo, che continuerà a credere un mago più abile di lui, finirà in croce con lui accusato di un vecchio furto.

TRAMA
Caleb è un ladruncolo da strapazzo. Un giorno assiste al miracolo della trasformazione dell'acqua in vino da parte di Gesù e decide di seguirlo, credendolo nient'altro che un truffatore. Ne resterà però affascinato e in qualche modo toccato dalla Grazia.

 | GRANDE !!! Possiamo classificarlo come "film natalizio" ? Vita di Gesù, interpretato benissimo dal povero Cassinelli, dalle Nozze di Cana alla Crocifissione come sfondo alla vita e le malefatte del povero Caleb (Montesano) e della malandrina di buon cuore Deborah, la Fenech, che mostra il suo grande "cuore" sin dalla prima scena... Buon cast maschile, anzi ottimo con Robutti e Vargas, tutto sommato il cast riportato in questa scheda è giusto, difatti quello di IMDb reca nefandezze, tipo Marcella Petrelli come moglie del latifondista Batuele, invece Marcellina è la prostituta che cerca la "Deborah sbagliata" nel lupanario, la moglie di Batuele è invece Stefania D'Amario qui radiosa e nudissima, Auretta Gay è la sorella di Marta (la Martinakova) nell'episodio di Lazzaro, nel lupanario mi pare di intravedere la Kanakis per un secondo, e non ho idea chi sia la "Deborah sbagliata" ma ha due bellissimi occhi, tutto sommato l'unica che sembra eccessiva e fuori posto è la francese Bernadette Lafonte, ma tutto sommato il film è godibile. Grazie per il torrent. Italian 80's Life of Brian...circa ! Italian comedy, filmed on Tunisia, with Montesano lead as Caleb, the third man in the Crucifiction of Jesus, played by the late Cassinelli, and Edwige Fenech as co-lead. Good italian cast of veteran actors such as Ezio Rubutti and Daniele Vargas, and a bunch of italian actresses, Stefania D'Amario overall, Suzana Martinakova and Auretta Gay quite impressive in the Lazarus chapter, Marcella Petrelli scantly clad and beautiful as usual, french Bernadette Lafont little miscast, but it's an enjoyable and weird "Christmas flick".
