FFS It's a different country, "Wog Boys" have done 2 other movies with the word in it and a very successful stage show. Have a guess who went an saw it WOGS! Each theater was full of Greeks, Italians, and SKIPS yes another racial term aimed at white Australians but they didn't care. With the stages they took the piss out of all Aussies that went and it was water off a ducks back. |
I'm not really following your rant but to my knowledge, Greeks and Italians are also white. Now keep your racial shit outta here, no one gives a fuck. And remember, people bringing up racial, are the racists. |
Ask a Northern European how white a Mediterranean is and whether he accepts them as his equal in every way. You'd be surprised. And no, there is no rationale for "people bringing up racial, are the racists". You should ponder on why you brought such nonsense on the table. Or liked it. |
guest 2915 next time you have a coffee add a teaspoon of mate snowflake generation |
Way too many in here that feed on the wooly woofter peecee crap out of hollywood! Stone the bloody crows mate, as Nino Cullotto put it, they're a weird mob down under. We also call each other old bastards and c***ts with a smile on our dials. I'm a proud aussie kraut with many great wog and dago mates .. and that's what we call ourselves .. usually over a beer in the pub. Terms of endearment or slurs depending on how she's spoke! 'Til Death Us Do Part ... Alf Garnett forever -- strewth .. get a bloody sense of humour and chill :-) PS: One of my aboriginal mates' favourite responses when asked 'Ow ya Going?' was "Oh, feelin' a bit off colour today hey!" |
Is it possible for Nick Giannopoulos to be racist against himself? |
I'm German and Spanish, and I don't care what anyone calls me ... ever! Words simply do not hurt me! Never have. |
Yeah, I saw that South Park series too, where this man was 1/64th Cherokee and thought he could speak for all native Americans. |
Definitely needed some diversity (even in the form of Klan members) on this film's team! |
so basically you guys are saying a10/v10 and im going to hell if i enjoy a film with a term the international viewers dont quite understand, kthxbai |
Guest -2915 Mate , come to Australia, nothing to do with being black, its an a endearment for our Aussie Italian heritage immigrants, just like calling me a Jock (Scottish ) |
Wogs is actually our Greek immigrants. Italians was dago's. If you're from the UK, you're a Pom. Local Aussies are called skips. They took what was originally an insult and owned it. Lookup "wogs out of work" for the origins of this film and it's predecessors. |
Yes ..they are more than aware of the symbolism of the term Wog......If you do a bit of research into these series of films you will find that the writers, producers and actors class themselves as wogs.(New Australians). Not my type of humor but many other Aussies find them funny. |
Me I was born overseas and call myself a WOG , looks like too many princess's on here like a wise man once said take a cup of cement and toughen the F up it is a movie precious. |
Loved it, as someone who grew up in a country town surrounded by people from 5-10 countries I never knew that my life and theirs were any different, only the food. Years later I found out why I was treated so badly at high School. I was a "Houso" one step up the social rung from the Aboriginal kids who I went school with and who were my neighbours, even other kids like me looked down on me. Yes there were names for most of the nationalities but who cared, a cricket bat was a great equaliser to use on the snobby rich kids who wanted to belittle us. Housos, Fat Pizza, Swift & Shift, Wogs Out of Work were more realistic for some of us than the other TV shows full of happy smiling faces like The Sullivans etc. I'm of Welsh/Cornish, Anglo Saxon descent and Australian. |
Here we are again with the decades-old argument on racism. Having grown up in Sydney during the 1980-90s and attended the public schools, I can tell you that not a single one of my friends nor their families whose ethnicity are called this racial slur enjoyed it. Neither did the Indigenous nor Asians being called the slurs Caucasians had for them. The argument that owning the derogatory term is just as asinine in Australia as in the United States for the African-Americans and it neither stops racism nor unites the people; you can't have a word that only some can use and expect everyone to treat you as an equal ... |
Bingo. "Reclaiming" slurs is just another way of saying "Sticks and stones... but words will never hurt me." Which, if true, would've made libel and slander lawsuits nonexistent long ago. It's a slur. Regardless who "can" use it. At best, it's an example of poor taste and ignorance. At worst, it's used as intended. |
if you grew up in sydney then you would know that the ''wog boys'' were taking the piss out of themselves , so it was no more racist than a african american calling another african american ''nigga'' |
I am white Australian and never heard the word SKIPS before. So what does it stand for.?? |
I've never heard of it being used to describe white Australians, must be a regional thing. However skips comes from the popular 70's childrens TV show Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. An Australian version of Lassie. I just refer to kangaroo based meals as skips on a plate. |
Can you say Wog now "Any dark-skinned person Noun. wog (plural wogs) (Britain, slang, derogatory, ethnic slur) Any dark-skinned person. It originally referred specifically to Indians, but later also applied to people of North African, Mediterranean, or Middle Eastern ancestry." |
well no your wrong as far as in the context of this movie it is reffered to as wogs for greeks , this movie as like it's tv series is about wogs {greeks} taking the piss out of each other. |
i never heard any of those racial slurs or aussie slang words until i moved to Australia, joking or not dont care who is getting pissed on i dont find it funny |
well I was on the set of the original film just in case you guest multi accounts needed to know and I will download and watch it and see what it's like |
I was an actor for the film Blood Oath; feel free to look up how many awards that won. How many did this original win; if I feel this is a racist film, who do you think wins this pissing contest ... |
