 | Thank you GalaxyRG great A/V, and a great movie. It's true that "All the President's Men" and "She Said" both deal with two reporters writing an important story that brings down weak, criminal men in positions of power. but that's where the similarities fall apart. It is possible to make a movie about two similar historical events without one "ripping off" the other. They're just similar events... which is rather sad really, in that we have two, weak, criminal male characters, abusing their power and authority for their own gain and gratification, one a President, one a movie producer. Maybe the US public will learn a lesson the next time such an individual lies to them for their own profit and ego... or maybe not. If that wasn't such a common story, there really wouldn't be that many stories to be told. It's also true that the women leads here are no Robert Redford or Dustin Hoffman, but they do a good job. The supporting cast is excellent (shout out to Andre Braugher here). The movie does a crucial job of bringing the story of the Weinstein sex-criminal, and his pathetic apologists, into the public arena. Great film, a valuable story, and an even more valuable lesson to be learned. If only the people that really needed to learn that lesson would be willing to listen.  |  SPOILER Yup, the scene in the bar when Carey Mulligan's character swears at the PUA (Pick Up Artist) is way over the top  Like trying to make out this is a common occurrence In my over 100 years on this planet I have NEVER seen  such behavior  |

| Guest-8506: If you follow that scene (48m), she clearly tries to tell the guy that she's not interested--several times. As the exchange gets more heated, he begins to tell her that he would "... bend her over and..." He was lucky that was as far as it went. Maybe women were more subservient "over 100 years" ago. |

| What sounded like that, the words "two reporters"? Because all the rest of the synopsis is nothing at all like "All The Presidents Men". Besides that, don;t you think it is better to judge a movie on its own merits than to make a beforehand comparison and have your judgment based solely on your assumption? |

| PLOT SPOILER This movie DOES think this is 'All the Presidents Men' right down to all the hurrying around, 'door-stepping', and the final few frames when Carey Mulligan presses 'PUBLISH' on her desktop publishing program In reality this is a long-drawn out tale of overwrought and emotional women hanging out their dirty laundry It did show some promise, early on, when Trump or someone playing Trump  (would Trump really appear in a feminist propaganda diatribe OK, maybe it was a really good voice actor ) 'Trump' was quite funny and the highlight of the movie Since we could see where this movie was coming from and where it was heading this was the only reason we persevered and held onto our seats expecting an appearance from Trump or Weinstein, all the while wondering who would play them, but that never materialised As for the 'men' who appeared, they should have got a part in 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid instead; what a pathetic shower of weak, self-flagellating 'betas' if ever there was. It's a shame   since Carey Mulligan was in one our all-time favorite movies - Never Let Me Go - Carey should have let this one go too  |
