When terrorist groups, evil criminals and aliens become too strong even for Earth's over-stretched armed forces, the virtually-indestructible robot, Gigantor, is built to combat them.

Description

An early version of Japanese anime, Gigantor became a huge hit in Australia and the U.S. in the 1960's. Copies of this cartoon series are scarce and very expensive. Enjoy this high quality copy of a rare gem, in English, exclusive for TorrentGalaxy users.

The Gigantor series is set in the year 2000. The super-hero charactor was orginally named 'Ironman' in English, but Marvel comics was about to debute their Ironman about a year later, thus the charactor was named Gigantor for the U.S. and Australia. The show follows the exploits of little Jimmy Sparks, a 12-year-old boy who controls Gigantor, a huge flying robot, with a remote control. This collection includes all 52 orginal black and white episodes.

this was on when first started school. The teacher, Miss Knobs, sent a note home to parents stating it was unsuitable due to the violence. And if your wondering, she never did marry.

Yours truly had recently arrived from the island of Jamaica in Feb 1968, turned on the television, saw this show and fell in love instantly. I would run home from pre-school (no tivo or on demand) so I could watch this show. When I mention this show to people today they think I'm crazy. Now I have proof...of the show. But I may still be a little crazy :_:-)

Wow! I still have the theme song stuck in my head all these years later. Between this, Kimba the White Lion (looking at you Lion King!), and Speed Racer, I became hooked on Japanese anime!

Born in '65 and one of the fav.'s in the day, 70's was Ultra Man. Very similar with the flying robot and the kid. Just not a cartoon manga.
