conspiracy by definition is not fake. it is very weird to see people in real-time rewrite the definition of something easily searchable. yes they often are not factual, but to be able to appeal to a mass audience it requires typically elements of truth weaved into the lie to make it easier to swollow. also i love how yellow journalism isn't ever mentioned when "fake news" is being discussed. this lack of context that is always clouding up any understanding. like how the "fake news" problem is not new, its just worse now because media monopolization and the complete dismantling of the original purpose of the FCC, to prevent media monopolization. not only has media consolidated, but they were all sold from private ownership to publically traded companies. bought up by billionaires like jeff benzos to enable them to not just manage narratives, but to sell access to others. everything I just said could be called a conspiracy theory. since its a theory how the owners of major media congolmerates conspired to violate the rules and then dismantle the FCC. consolidating the media into fewer companies, etc. but its not false either. what way will we be manipulated next? |
