This book provides a path for recent developments and advances in utilizing materials, techniques, and methods with the goal of achieving sustainability. This book provides knowledge-based information for readers to assess, monitor, measure, and practice sustainability for resilient infrastructure. The content in the book is a blend of academic research work and industry-based case studies covering the use of sustainable materials like Lime–Pozzolana Binders, bio-polymers, lignosulphonate-based materials, lightweight aggregates made from fly ash, calcined clay, paper ash, and limestone as amendments/ameliorators for soil remediation, focuses on the development of neo-construction materials and composites for civil engineering applications. Topics related to advances in characterization of structural and geomaterial, design of innovative pavements using alkali activation, and pervious concrete for sustainable infrastructure are also presented. Some of the contents provide tools, indicators, techniques, and performance-based design for energy-efficient buildings. Few chapters covered the role of Civil Engineers in achieving UN sustainable development goals, effect of COVID-19 on public transportation, promoting climate change design for urban landscapes, and modeling building energy demand. Special emphasis is laid on the valorization of industrial, C&D waste, recycle and reuse of wastes and life cycle analysis of materials.
