Eagle Eye, film diretto da D.J. Caruso, segue le vicende di Jerry Shaw (Shia LaBeouf), un giovane scansafatiche che vive a Chicago ed è costantemente al verde. Un giorno, il ragazzo riceve una drammatica notizia: suo fratello gemello Ethan - membro dell’aeronautica militare - è morto a seguito di un incidente stradale. Da quel momento, a Jerry iniziano ad accadere fatti molto strani: il suo conto in banca si è magicamente riempito di soldi, il suo spoglio appartamento si è all’improvviso riempito di armi e una misteriosa voce di donna lo chiama al telefono per avvisarlo dell’arrivo dell’FBI.
Spaventato, il giovane segue le istruzioni della voce e ben presto s’incontra con una donna che non ha mai visto prima: si tratta di Rachel Holloman (Michelle Monaghan), mamma single del piccolo Sam. Dopo essersi separata per la prima volta dal figlio - andato a esibirsi con la banda musicale della scuola - Rachel ha iniziato a ricevere telefonate in cui una voce anonima minaccia la morte del bambino se non seguirà le istruzioni che le verranno date.
