the original uncut version is 10/10 for me, this is the cut version which is no more than 6/10 if you have seen the original |
When someone asks you what is horror, you can tell them to watch this movie and "In the mouth of madness". Thanks uploader. |
You are very wrong my friend. This is the CUT version and is no horror at all, just boring sci-fi, makes no sense without the horror scenes. |
Looking at the 95 minutes running time, if that's accurate, this is cut. I still have the uncut version on VHS that was erroneously released for home rental media. |
if there was an uncut version released at one stage even by accident - somebody would have leaked it at least by now. the director has said himself that the footage is basically lost because it came out at the beginning of the roll out of dvds and at the time nobody thought there wass an interest in bonus content |
@jaxe it was a popular misconception that you could not copy protected VCR tapes, I did a whole heap of Macrovision protected tapes a long time ago by using two VCR machines of the same make and model which defeated the Macrovision making the machines out of sync and it worked like a charm. No-one told me how to do this I just had two machines that were the same and thought I would see if I could copy tapes and it worked. This was only for my own benefit and all tapes were done for me alone not for sale. Most of the time I purchased the original and then made a back up to watch keeping the original safe. |
@JAXE if you own the original uncut version on vhs, you can make a lot of money. and make movie fans happy. please read IMDB info. the original was lost and no uncut version is known to exist. not even the director has is. |
Yes my version is 130 min. It was from VHS that were send out to video stores and then at the end of the rental period, stores were to return them to the studio. I owned several stores from 1985-2004 and my copy was part of the VHS rental. |
This movie is made by Paramount, one of the studios that are toughest on copyright violation. 10 years ago they went after a friend of mine for downloading a copy of Airplane! 1980. A movie that was 32 years old. Only way I can sell this is to get Paramount permission. But once they found out I still have an uncut copy |
of this movie on VHS, they will not only demand I return it, they will release their lawyers hounds on me. Also the VHS is protected by copy protection, you can't duplicate a VHS or DVD copy from it. |
@Jaxe you should try reach out to some people that want to restore the film, I'm sure theres plenty of people that can work magic on it and work around the copy protection these days |
@Jaxe Surely there is a way to get the video copied from the VHS to a PC. |
ClearClick VHS To DVD Wizard just sayin' |
Actually I don't even own a VHS player anymore. Gave them all away couple of years ago. I still have 1000 of VHS tapes, some of them original releases for rental and sale like copies of the original Star Wars trilogy before Lucas messed with them. Regular and Adult movies on VHS from the 70's and 80's that were not |
edited or cut. Many of those never seen the light of day unedited on DVD. |
"But once they found out I still have an uncut copy of this movie on VHS, they will not only demand I return it, they will release their lawyers hounds on me". That's such f*king bull cr*p, can't believe y'all fall for such weak lies. The man is full of it, don't you get it by now? |
Jaxe i had a Goldstar Vcr years ago that was capable of bypassing copy protection,i copied around 300 movies with it....till i made a boner move and swapped it back to the shop i bought if from for a newer model...which shockingly enough removed that feature* |
@jake thanks for replying. amazing that you have the uncut 130 min version on vhs. probably the only known version on the planet. I dont see any problems with copyright or things like that. of course you can get in trouble if you upload it or something. but you own the vhs tape, so you are free to sell it. how about the director, who doesnt even own a copy? 100% for sure I would contact him, or the movie studio. I dont know who, but somebody will (legally) pay you well for the tape. |
Sorry guys, this is the boring cut version. The original uncut version is the all time best sci-fi horror I have ever seen. Unfortunately, the cut version is just boring and lame compared to the original. The original was destroyed and lost forever. |
