| Strange. This movie won Best Director at a film festival awards in 2016. Why is it just now getting a wide release? The director Jay Giannone is a veteran of many movies including some good ones. I personally know 4 people who died of Dementia. It's a very slow and painful process, 2 of them took 5 years, for the person affected and for their families to see a loved one slowly fade away and there is nothing you can do for them. This film is getting good reviews but I will have to hard pass. It will bring back too many sad memories for me. |

 | I am a medical professional, brother, and I have watched these poor people die. They go from perfectly normal to not knowing who they are or what they are even doing being alive. It is so sad. For a prime example, you can watch our current chief slowly deteriorate. |

| Good friend of mine of 35 years watched his parents die of Dementia. Both of them at the same time over a course of 5 years. His mother died first and his father died less than 12 hours later. For 5 years he kept them at home so he could care for both of them himself with the help of nurses that came once a day |

When that Dementia takes over, his parents couldn't function anymore. Didn't know who they were and where they are or who he was. But he didn't want to put them in |

| a hospice where they will be filled with drugs, neglected and left to rot in bed in their own waste. Many time I and other friends of his offered to go help so he could rest, he refused. He said he don't want to burden anyone. Especially when his mother would act up and get into violent rages and behavior. |

| He didn't want any one of us who were offering to help him and take turns taking care of his parents to have to deal with those violent rages. He said it was too much to ask of his friends. To this day I still don't know how he was able to do it for 5 years. There were many days he would email me and said he hasn't |

| slept more than a couple of hours over a 3-4 days period. Both of his parents passed away in 2018. He just recently sold their home that he was born in and raised in and grew up in that's been in his family since his Grandfather bought it in 1902. |
