How can anyone be upset about a black man wielding a GL ring? Even if you only knew about Lanters from watching cartoons, you'd have seen Stewart using a ring in the first episodes of Justice League (Unlimited) way back in 2001. No one had a problem with it then. Complaining about it now is just absurd. Stop abusing the comments section. Or are you going to whine about too many purple-skinned people having rings now? Or are you going to claim that the only reason Mogo is a GL is because the liberals wanted to push their climate change lies onto children? |
Timing??!! Don't make me laugh!! The character was created in 1971, and has appeared in comic books and DC's animated universe ever since. The "timing" is in your head. |
Ppl are so into the "woke" thing that they won't bother researching things. Especially thee fact this character has been there longer than most here. Also for the "it's the timing" guy: Stewart has been animated films just a few years. This is just rcism honestly. |
Those people are not at all into the "woke" thing; they don;t even know what "woke" means. They just use the word as if a swear word to cancel anything they dislike. Research, acquiring knowledge is a "woke" word to them. |
LiberalLesbo Don't give a shit about your racial bs but did a 20 second search to view if your claim was accurate. John Steward was 'the green arrow' holding the downed 'green arrow' in his hand (frontpage comic magazine 1971) So, no the green lantern wasn't black. Particular Skin color matters wauw, retards. |
LiberalLesbo So when i watch the cover i see a green arrow as white, and the green lantern as black, so they simply reversed the skin colore and made the main character black and the secondary white oppose to what it was before. I would defenatly categorize this as woke programing, yes. Still i don't watch this crap. |
HandersonJB Yes, people bringing up race are the racists, no matter how they bring it their intention is never good. For Non racists skin color doesn't even hit their mind for a nano second. And this Hollywood movie industrie is extremely racist, continually bringing it into the spotlight, using it as PR. |
LiberalLesbo A quick google search shows that what you say is not accurate, Steward 1971 was the green arrow, he in fact is holding the downed green lantern in his hand on a 1971 comic cover. |
Guest-2554: Green Lantern, John Stewart -- created by writer Dennis O'Neil and artist Neal Adams, first appeared in Green Lantern #87 (December 1970/January 1971; DC Fandom). Got a nice copy in a box in my garage, and a digital version on my NAS. |
LiberalLesbo You are right, i was wrong. i looked it up in more detail, the original green lantern is a black dude. There is way to much skin color talk on this platform it sure starts to feel pretty racist, would be nice not to allow posts like "why is he black now" or some racist shit like that. ✌ |
Guest-6563 >> and that's decency and manners for you Wouldn't it be nicer if we were all big enough to say things like that when we needed to? All the very best to you and yours My Lovely |
Guest-2554 > When you're looking at the two characters on the cover of Green Lantern / Green Arrow #87 (1971), they are John Stewart and Hal Jordan, both in Green Lantern costumes (G. Arrow isn't on the cover at all). John Stewart takes over when Hal is injured, nobody swapped them over, you just misunderstood... easy to do if you're not into the comics and the characters. |
And all that for a bloody cartoon, for Pete's sake. "We, the people" will never be united and the land will never be of the free or home of the brave. I pity you. |
Read a lot of the comments. Ignoring "ethnicity", "woke" or whatever comments, I thought this was a great story! Really enjoyed watching it. Thanks for uploading! |
I really like the animation style, the story and the characters are awesome too! |
Thanks for the post, the movie has an average story but watchable, nothing special. |
Yes, John Stewart has been a GL for a long time. His highlights in Cosmic Odyssey where he fucks up and blows an inhabited system and in Mosaic where he tries to make up for it. He´s been a staple of the GL corps, and a fan favorite, after Guy and Kyle Rayner. Yes, he was the GL in Timmverse, where he had a romantic liason with Hawkgirl (No Carter because of reasons). Given all that, Yes, there has been erasure of the classic characters because they are of the wrong ethnicity. People are just tired at this point, and to call them racists is intellectually dishonest. Its tiring, and people should vote with their wallet. Given all that, John Stewart continues to be a classical character. But he´s no longer himself. The dude was an architect, not a war veteran. Kyle was an imagination powerhouse and Guy was a kind hearted firebrand. This is just a placeholder. People are just tired, that´s why they complain. |
"the wrong ethnicity". Please mull on that for a moment. And then at least one other moment. |
I'm not upset about the good brother John Stewart wielding the ring. I'm upset at this turd of a movie. BORING. |
Thank you GalaxyRG, I got this and the 1400MB 1080p, and the A/V in both is terrific -- as usual, no problems there; I love your work The movie is a good DC effort, suitable voiceovers, good art, story is... OK. I'm not a fan of what DC has been doing to the characters of some of their GL's over the years (let's have Arisa back ), so the story fell a bit flat for me. But if you're just a DC hero fan, with no hang-ups on character history (sorry, comic book here), then this is fun stuff. Thanks again GalaxyRG luvya loads |
Leave it please, enyone realizes there are no differences among men. so many " I" , we all call ourself "i" as ourself. so ''I you 'I' ..bho||??time wast, wasted, why go ahed, in the end , is it really funny peace love and understanding??...bbha!!!??great work thaksfour this site |
Whatever you were smoking, it was past expiration date. |
The same argument of Michael Bay's Ambulance... White Man Bad... Black Guy... Doesn't need a teacher and is better than the oeiginal... This could have been great, but it seems that any black hero needs the previous white one dissappear, way better if it's in disgrace. What's next? Muslim Simon Baz Green Lantern, taking over disgraced and evil Kyle Rainer or Guy Gardner? |
