Sadly, Gerard's career seems to be going the way of Bruce Willis. I hope I'm wrong. I like him. Also like Bruce, sad to hear about his aphasia, doubly sad his career was nose diving at the end (maybe that's why it did?) Life is cruel, being rich and famous hardly insulates you from that. |
It's sad what happened to Bruce Willis, yeah; but Gerard Butler is not affected by any 'system malfunction' that we know of... and he seems to be throwing his career down the drain. Pity, he could have saved a lot more presidents and played a lot more law-abiding citizens. |
The poster itself looks like CAM quality, suddenly Gerard Butler looks 20 years older. |
Why bc they added a little bit of gray to his beard/hair? Lol Didn't he have to lose all that weight from the last movie he was in btw, bc they made him look like he was super heavy in the previous role! Maybe that's part of acting and/or the different roles they take on, Guest-2127? :) |
Guests-1512 and any others that thought this resembled "The Vanishing"? I don't understand why, you stumped me? That was about a "Serial Killer" if my senile memory serves me...which it probably doesn't...Lol...and this movie nor breakdown had "one"...but Breakdown was very much like this movie in the plot!:) |
So basically, if the movies Breakdown & The Vanishing had a baby, this movie would be it. Either Hollywood is running out of ideas or people are just content t go watch the same basic story lines movie after movie. |
Breakdown is a rattling good movie And The Vanishing and the original Dutch movie are fantastic too |
un factoid: Gerard Butler also starred in 'The Vanishing'. Unfathomably the plot of this movie has nothing to do with the 1988 movie (remade in 1993) about a woman going missing at a service station which the plot of this movie sounds suspiciously similar to |
Guest-3229..."The Vanishing"...I didn't look it up but it's not the same plot as this(think Breakdown was closer), and wasn't that "Jeff Bridges" & "Kiefer Sutherland"? I don't remember the year but it was back in that timeframe? |
Didn't Barry Newman of 'Petrocelli' fame do 'Vanishing Point' too? A good movie |
Gerard What a tongue - tripper of a name. Why could his parents have named him Gerald? Bet his middle names are Derren Briain |
Then Spanish will really make your tongue trip all the way down For us the usual form of that name is "Gerardo". What would sound awkward is "Geraldo", I don't know anyone with that name. |
"Geraldo" seems like just any other name. Geraldo, Ronaldo, Arnoldo, Pallando, Raymondo, Donaldo, Heraldo, Johndo, Judo, Taekwondo, ... Simply take a name and append the -(an)do consonant to get new male name: Mariando, Luciando, Sylviando, Christiando, Briando, Clarando, Peterdo, Bernardo, Williamdo, Elfrido, Evando |
@Guest-1572: How could you forget that dweeb Geraldo Rivera? |
Some of us are fortunate to not live in the US. |
The names Gerard , moreso Derren and especially Briain really get my goat Briain really takes to cookie |
Guest-2061 that's a great observation, and I didn't think of that until you just said it. I liked them both, and do think they are quite similar, you're absolutely right, but they make subtle variations of course to the plot, but they both have the same theme/premise!:) Guest-6438, I agree to disagree with ya'!:) |
Thank you very much TGx for "Last Seen Alive" The Torrent was excellent imho and I will always give them A/V=10/10...5 stars, unless they are not watchable or being able to hear it properly in even 1 scene! :) I can't recall one of these slotlights CAM/ts movies having a "Hx" whatever language was subtitled throughout the entire movie at the bottom, but that made no difference at all. In fact, despite the watermark, and CAM, and a Hard Coded Subtitled movie, with a couple of ads, and that was the best action/suspense movie going right up there "the entire movie" with "Ambulance"! Gerard Butler movies are awesome, and this one I could have used another hour just to make up for all the other movies out there that are boring! At least with "Last Seen Alive", it may not be the most action packed in his top 5 movies, but heck it's better than any snorefest or borefest! ;) M=7.0 because the music just adds to the intensity of the movie, and it's a high-octane suspense movie, even if we've seen similar plots before, just in a different environment. I honestly wish the 90 minute movie went 2 hours and 15 mins because good suspense movies just don't come around that often, instead we get movies that border on M=4.0's to M=5.0's at best, and they seem to last forever to get a 90 minute movie "done"! Hopefully we can look forward to another "....Has Fallen" movie from G. Butler & M. Freeman in the future!:) |
