Recording company Universal Music Canada has announced the release of a new 4CD box set "Goodbye Tour - Live 1968". The album was released on March 6, 2020. This is the first official release of Cream's four historic '68 concerts since their farewell tour.
Three concerts were recorded in California in October 1968: in Oakland, Los Angeles and San Diego, but the fourth - Cream's farewell concert on November 26, 1968 - at London's Royal Albert Hall. Each concert contains previously unreleased tracks. The performance at the Royal Albert Hall has not yet been released on CD, only on DVD.
They were all recorded during Cream's farewell US tour (with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, Eric Clapton) in October 1968 and their final UK performance at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 26 of that year.
The box includes 19 previously unreleased tracks, as well as 10 tracks recorded in London that were previously only available on DVD. David Fricke of Rolling Stone wrote the lyrics for the boxing book about the band and their final tour.
