Despite a growing reputation, the eponymous and sole album of Emmet Finley remains one of the best kept secrets in pop music. This is really something huge and when I say huge, I mean, almost as good as Michael Angelo. Both albums have that same dreamy feel that we all looking for. The songs are strong pop/rock with complex, elaborate structures and unpredictable tempo changes, a kind of melting pot of pure sadness and anger. One of the reasons which can explain why it has been overlooked for so long (apart from its evident scarcity) is that it's not an easy album to get into. In my case, I needed more than two years!! So, if this doesn't work for you the first time, do you a favor and give it another try and another try again and again. Emmett has my highest praise.
