Una Famiglia Vincente - King Richard, film diretto da Reinaldo Marcus Green, racconta la storia delle due superstar del tennis, Venus e Serena Williams, tramite la figura del padre, Richard Williams (Will Smith), che sin dall'infanzia è stato il loro allenatore. La famiglia Williams viveva a Compton, malfamato quartiere di Los Angeles ad alto tasso di criminalità.
Sin da quando erano bambine, Richard ha deciso che le figlie avrebbero auto un futuro da tenniste e, nonostante non avessero preparazione alcuna, ha iniziato ad allenarle. Con nessuna conoscenza dello sport, l'uomo si è impegnato a formarle, convinto che un giorno le sue bambine sarebbero potute diventare due delle tenniste migliori della storia.
