Cardboard sleeve (mini LP) reissue from Bill Evans featuring the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (compatible with standard CD players) and the latest 24bit/96kHz digital remastering. Comes with bonus track(s). Part of a 5-album Bill Evans SHM-CD cardboard sleeve reissue series featuring albums "I Will Say Goodbye," "Alone (Again)," "Intuition," "Re: Person I Knew," and "Jazzhouse." Alone (Again) is a solo piano album by American jazz pianist Bill Evans, recorded in December 1975 but not released until 1977 on Fantasy Records.
To paraphrase President Kennedy's famous remark about Thomas Jefferson dining alone, when Bill Evans played solo piano there had never been such a gathering of intellect, ability, and expressiveness at a keyboard. A successor to Alone, for which he won a Grammy, Alone (Again) highlights all of Evans's strength: his exquisitely balanced time, the depth of his harmonic genius, the inimitable singing quality of his phrasing. His producers say that it was difficult to get Evans to record by himself. He claimed it was his one area of performance insecurity. Perhaps he was concerned about revealing as much of himself as he does in these pieces.
