Oooh nice! This one slipped under my radar. As a frequent reader of the Fortean Times, these things fascinate me. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Fox Mulder "I wan't to believe" kinda guy, but I do keep an open mind, neither believing, nor disbelieving, until I can be presented with irrefutable proof one way or the other. After all, we thought lightning was a mystical force until we could understand what was going on. Brilliant book to read, if you're interested incidentally, is Where Science and Magic Meet by Serena Roney-Dougal PhD. As an experiment when I was a teenager and my interest in Urban Myths began, a friend and I crafted our own Urban Legend based around one specific, randomly selected, gravestone in the village graveyard. I don't know what we expected, but I'm now in my mid-50s and am constantly surprised when I visit my home village and the graveyard, to get the tale retold to me by old and young alike. I've watched may shows like this, but just skimming through and I've been impressed by the polished production, not like many of the shows like Skinwalker Ranch where the supposed investigators are just cringeworth and over-hammed. If nothing else, it will pass the time between now and the New Year as something entertaining to watch. Thanks for posting this up, it may yet prove that my sanity is out there - somewhere (and probably having a far more interesting time without me). |
