. This is a book every man should have (and maybe a few ladies such as my Greek mother-in-law). I had this when it was first published way back in the 70's. It was a gift from my wife - I suspect that she was trying to tell me something about the flourishing growth on my chin. . Before you grow a beard you must give it some serious thought. This small volume will help you through that and the early stages of ceasing to shave. It also gives some excellent advice on the care of a beard - it does need a good shampoo every day! . The author also gives advice on styling - a goatee? a full set? a bare patch in the middle? Your place of residence may also determine your choice of style. A full beard is fine in London all of the year. BUT if you spend three weeks in the Greek islands at the height of summer you will soon realise that you need to purchase a razor and some shaving foam - it has to go! . One can make mistakes with styling and trimming but fret not. The difference between a bad beard and a great beard is only about six weeks . A friend borrowed my book in 1980 and never returned it (that's YOU Bill Taylor). I have been looking for a replacement copy ever since and now I have it. Rejoice! . . |
