01 The Peacemaker - George Clooney 1997.
Russian general Aleksandr Kodoroff is in charge of transporting nuclear warheads
for destruction as agreed with the West, but actually leads a conspiracy to make
the train crash in Bosnia with another, after killing his own guards, to steal the
cargo. Special Operations Intelligence Officer Colonel Thomas Devoe realizes what
happened and concludes from his Moskow source 's silence that a plot is going
behind the Kremlin's back. He urgently wants to find and recuperate the bombs, but
is forced to cooperate closely with expert analyst Dr. Julia Kelly, who is
politically mandated by the White House. They cross Europe to trace by any means
the trail of the covert operation, fighting off enemy agents, notably in Vienna.
The convoy already approaches the Caucasian border when an urgent commando
operation on Russian soil is the last chance. Due to limited success, a vindictive
rogue diplomat still brings the last warhead to the UN Geral Assembly.

02 The Last Castle - Robert Redford 2001.
When three star General Irwin is transferred to a maximum security military prison,
its warden, Colonel Winter, can't hide his admiration towards the highly decorated
and experienced soldier. Irwin has been stripped of his rank for disobedience in a
mission, but not of fame. Colonel Winter, who runs the prison with an iron fist,
deeply admires the General, but works with completely different methods in order to
keep up discipline. After a short while, Irwin can feel Winter's unjust treatment
of the inmates. He decides to teach Winter a lesson by taking over command of the
facility and thus depriving him of his smug attitude. When Winter decides to
participate in what he still thinks of as a game, it may already be too late to
win.
