The Godfather and Growler-in-Chief of 1980s punk rock is back Jack. Teamed up with famed spectral guitarist Steve Stevens, this EP is Billy Idol's first new music in seven years. There are only four tracks here, but 'Bitter Taste' is the highlight. It's a slow and mellow ballad with a country vibe in which he reflects on his near-fatal motorcycle crash in L.A. in 1990. It's one of those rare songs that you'll dig right off the bat. And after you've heard it 3 times, it will be in your head for the rest of the day. Sort of a 'grown-up' kinder, gentler version of the 80s Billy Idol. That track alone makes this EP worth having, imho. Thanks to pmedia for the early HQ share. 🥂 PS: He may be kinder and gentler but if you check out Rita Hayworth, you'll see that he can still growl. |
