Summary of the play from Wikipedia

"Woyzeck is a stage play written by Georg Büchner. He left the work incomplete at his death, but it has been posthumously "finished" by a variety of authors, editors and translators.[by whom? – Discuss] Woyzeck deals with the dehumanising effects of doctors and the military on a young man's life. It is often seen as 'working class' tragedy, though it can also be viewed as having another dimension, portraying the 'perennial tragedy of human jealousy."

" Wozzeck is the first opera by the Austrian composer Alban Berg. It was composed between 1914 and 1922 and first performed in 1925. The opera is based on the drama Woyzeck, which the German playwright Georg Büchner left incomplete at his death. Berg attended the first production in Vienna of Büchner's play on 5 May 1914, and knew at once that he wanted to base an opera on it. (At the time, the play was still known as Wozzeck, due to an incorrect transcription by Karl Emil Franzos...."

My notes.

  There are few operas in the collection I have in torrents.  Wozzeck is now included with
such topical operas as Doctor Atomic by John Adams and The Rise And Fall Of The City Of Mahagonny by Brecht.

  The style of the production is arresting, large and detailed to fit the subject of
an opera written after World War I.  It is a visual treat and that drew me to it in a big way.  The recode you have is for easy download in size and suitable for maintaining for others to enjoy.
