Roberto Polaco Goyeneche - born in Barrio Saavedra (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires) on January 29, 1926 and died in Buenos Aires on August 27, 1994 - was a successful Argentine singer, highly recognized for his interpretive quality and for his particular way of phrasing the tango melodies with rubato. This particularity was based on not matching the tempo of the lyrics that he sang with the tempo of the musical accompaniment.
