With the disappearance of hack horror writer Sutter Cane, all Hell is breaking loose...literally! Author Cane, it seems, has a knack for description that really brings his evil creepy-crawlies to life. Insurance investigator John Trent is sent to investigate Cane's mysterious vanishing act and ends up in the sleepy little East Coast town of Hobb's End.  | This is a great example of a how you can make a good horror movie without a lot of cash, but with a good script. Don't get me wrong, this might have been really expensive in those days. But nowadays, any kid with a laptop can make some of these effects, and most of those who have any experience with props can make something really close. But the story HAS TO BE GOOD. I see recent horror movies and, even the one with real budget behind, are so bad that you start to lose faith. |
