  It’s a summer’s morning in 1988 and Tory politician Robin Hesketh has returned home to the idyllic Cotswold house he shares with his wife of 30 years, Diana. But all is not as blissful as it seems. Diana has a stinking hangover, a fox is destroying the garden, and secrets are being dug up all over the place. As the day draws on, what starts as gentle ribbing and the familiar rhythms of marital sparring quickly turns to blood-sport. A witty and devastating new play. Hansard premiered at the National Theatre, London, in August 2019.

My notes

 This play was included in a large anonymous file group from which I am doing recodes and notations.  In this case the recode made a major difference.  The source material was coded in a way to produce visual artifacts called frame dominance.  Correcting this to the standard for these NTLive shows has, to my inspection,  eliminated those artifacts.

 I've come to enjoy Alex Jennings in from previous recodes I've viewed such as The Habit Of Art.  The play itself has clever language but right on the edge you can hear a bit of the likes of Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?  Virginia Woolf gets a mention in the play but not Edward Albee.  And it is the nature of dialog dramas promising a big climax as the Amazon note says, to offer surprises.
I'll not spoil that.
