. If you weren't in Hyde Park, London on 7th June 1969 you missed a really GREAT concert. And it was FREE. And it was SUNNY. . Most of us went to see the first(?) UK supergroup - Blind Faith. With Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Steve Winwood we expected to be highly entertained - We were not disappointed. . Download this album and hear what you missed and 100,000 of us enjoyed immensely. There is a video of the gig which someone my be able to find - hint, hint. . Others on the stage that day were Donovan, Richie Havens (absolutely superb), Third Ear Band and the Edgar Broughton Band (the hairiest and loudest band in British rock). . I saw the Edgar Broughton Band a few weeks later at the London School of Economics. They were playing in the basement restaurant - nothing but concrete walls. They obviously turned the volume up to 11.5 and all those who attended now suffer from partial hearing loss and chronic tinnitus. It was worth it . |
