Fantastic documentary. So glad I found it here. I thought I knew all there was to know about the Beatles and their music, having been born in 1951, but this goes into some subtle unknown and interesting facts. Like Eric Clapton played lead guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", and Paul played drums on "Back In The USSR". I thought Billy Preston was the only artist that played on a Beatles track. |
Pure Gold = Good series - episodes and Print - Thanks for the share GalaxyTV ... A / V = 8 |
A fascinating documentary, filled with details and juicy bits I've never heard before. Here's an example: The idea for the character Sgt. Pepper came to Paul while sitting on an airplane, chatting with a roadie. The roadie says, 'pass me the salt and pepper' but Paul thinks he said 'pass me the Sgt. Pepper.' And, well, the rest is history. If you dig music trivia like that, you'll like this. The interviews take place in front of a mixing board, where Rubin and McCartney turn up (or down) certain segments of a song in order to highlight a particular instrument or voice, almost like dissecting a song into its individual parts. Also includes file footage and old photos from the Beatles vault. A/V is excellent and subtitles are included. Thank you, GalaxyTV. |
