Due to an experimental vaccine, Dr. Robert Neville is the only survivor of an apocalyptic war waged with biological weapons. The plague caused by the war has killed everyone else except for a few hundred deformed, nocturnal people calling themselves "The Family". The plague has caused them to become sensitive to light, as well as homicidally psychotic. They believe science and technology to be the cause of the war and their punishment, and Neville, as the last symbol of science, the old world, and a "user of the wheel", must die. Neville, using electricity, machinery, and science attempts to hold them at bay.

| This movie is a real legend, from the superb Richard Matheson based book, with was made with real actors and not like the remake, animatronic bored and just Will Smith on billboards to capture audience. Data: film's exteriors were shot in downtown Los Angeles on weekends where there were no shoppers, so no one there. Real empty streets, no computer screens, awesome! Este film, Soy legenda (la Ultima Esperanza en español) basado en el excelente libro de Richard Matheson, actuado con actores reales y no con animatronic aburridos y con el agregado de Will Smith en carteleras para capturar audiencia Dato: Los exteriores del film fueron filmados en el downtown Los Angeles, con comecios cerrados.
