This is so gripping I actually wet my knickers This is a drama I just couldn't put down not even for a moment to go to the restroom I thought the other commenters were joking about being glued to their sofa but as soon as this gets going you ain't going anywhere First time this has happened to me |
Watchable indeed. Great story/plot, with the always fascinating "Sean Bean. Thanx for the share GalaxyTV |
That black female prison governor is way too young What was her previous job? Commander of a SWAT team? Chief Firefighter? Leader of a SAS regiment A High Court judge? Talking of which the Judge on Eastenders was a young, teenage black girl chewing gum sat up on the bench and laughing as she was sentencing a white block to life imprisonment of a trumped-up charge of murder Top marks for realism Fun factoid:The youngest prisoner governor ever in the UK was a guy called David Wilson. He is now a professor of criminology and does lots of TV shows. This is gripping drama none the less, had to binge watch it in one go |
@ maddog73 I agree completely. Cheers. @ Guest-7384 Not only is he alive, he killed it, literally and figuratively, alongside an outstanding performance by Stephen Graham. I binge-watched all 3 episodes this evening and was glued to my sofa. The drama builds slowly as the backstories unfold, but it just gets better and better. The medley of U.K. accents can be a bit challenging, but soft-coded subtitles are included. Rating it 8/10. A/V is spot-on. One more thing: Based on the ending (no spoilers) a second season is probably not gonna happen, so if you're bored and looking for a good but short drama to watch, this is not a bad way to blow three hours. Thank you GalaxyTV. 🏴☠️ |
Thanks Kent. And as far as I'm concerned, you didn't spoil anything. Really appreciate your two cents, thanks again. A/V = 8ish |
I need to know if Sean Bean dies in this series. I'm tired of watching show because he is in it and having him die. TIRED. |
As someone who as spent time in one of Her Majesty's prisons this really hit home with me. It was almost unbearable to watch at times. Those crazies are real. They way they suddenly turn on you. They way they kick off. They way they will attack you out of the blue. It was like the screw (prisoner officer) said, they should all be in a mental institution. It is like how a lawyer said to me they file cons under 'mad', 'sad' or 'bad'. And yet some people still describe these places as 'holiday camps' |
I really enjoyed this This is top-drawer Brit drama This is how drama should be done Had me glued to the sofa NOT A PLOT SPOILER I had this crazy idea that Sean Bean's son was leaking which prison the warden's son was in Jimmy McGovern, the writer, missed a trick there Superb performances from each and every one of the cast I thought that some of the lesser parts were going to be ropey but I was wrong - those prisoners scared the crap out out me Especially the way they went from being your best friend to a raving psycho is a short space of time You aren't really going to better drama than this And filmed in a real prison , Shrewsbury Prison too This comes highly recommended |
lol just watched it .. imho ... it was superb .. the man can do no wrong .... |
Thank you GalaxyTV A 10/V 10/S 7 Keep Up All The Good Upload You Do Sir |
In no way as realistic as the other Brit prison drama 'Porridge' starring Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckinsale Now, that really had life inside a British nick nailed to a T |
Superb Lifetime comes up trumps once again If only the Brits could to drama like us Yanks |
Excellent British drama. Thoroughly enjoyed both the stars and the story. Make sure watch it! |
