 | see the admins/mods have updated the rules, which is a good thing, the more precision the better. an oversight however, it seems that using "socially dangerous misinformation" is way overly broad, unnecessary and completely subjective. surely torrentgalaxy doesn't wish to join the ranks in spirit of twitter's and facebook's executive board of policing what is "misinformation"? based on that perhaps all tv "news" shows should be banned, and much else. what is dangerous is precisely what rachel and her writers and producers are advocating here. the precise nature of the United States (if it is to mean anything other than rampant greed and corruption generating internal collapse/decay) is that of a federation of states that have a powerful say in elections overlayed on a very powerful centralized federal government, which is precisely why those powers are vested in the states by design. if these elections are all on the up and up then wtf is with the democrats initially and now freaking out like it is the end of the world? do they ever bother to even question this themselves within their bubble? or are they so insecure that even that idea of questioning themselves, or allowing anyone else to question them, is completely untenable? what is "misinformation" today is information tomorrow, and the media's record on this stuff is pitiful. the best way is to let people decide themselves what they want to believe, let them express it, and if their ideas suck it will either be obvious or only dupe idiots anyway. if only the democrats had an insurgency on their side that rivals what is going on with the republicans, then they actually may have some sense of promise. as of now, any good "liberal" should really reflect that the gang of biden et. al. are actually in large part the cause of what they decry of the developments on the right, and that there is no dynamism in democratic party, in fact the opposite, absorbing the neocons and becoming in holier-than-thou-ness much like the rightwing in social posture and idea policing. |
