Hollywood purposely remakes old box office hits each generation in hopes that the new generation will have no clue that it was ever made prior ( usually with better actors and scripts ) and also hoping to bank $$$ on it. Look how many times a star is born was made and many many other films. I do like all the actors involved in this movie and will certainly watch it. I also enjoy comparing how these new movies might or might not stack up to the originals. |
@ Fear375 The book is always better Give me the book over the movie every time |
Does Hitchcock receive any royalties for all these Rear Window knock-off? |
................................... It was Watchable & Had a Twist. Gary Oldman is Gary Oldman, Great In Almost Any Movie. & Amy Adams Is Sexxy. |
@ Guest-1537 Like in music we should view these derivative movies as a ♫ canon - a variation on a theme ♫ - Hitchcock's Canon in Amy Adams Major |
And none of you cinematographic experts even mention 'Gaslight', simply because there is a window and someone looks through it? Wow. |
Wonder what the next one in the Rear Window 'franchise' going to be called - Window at the Rear? Woman in the Window at the Rear? |
Is that Amy Adams both in the screenshots and on the cover? If so she looks a helluva lot older on the screenshots I really hope Amy Adams isn't turning into another Michelle Pfiefer looks-wise |
Back in the day when I saw the name Gary Oldman I thought 'must watch' but now given some of his recent movie adventures I am not so sure and like Nic Cage, Danny Trejo and Bruce Willis it does kind of put me off But saying that, I haven't watched this move - so it is all up in the air This movie could swing either way |
There's a Rear Window knock-off at least once a year now, and that's jus the studio ones, and not even counting the indie ones. |
I'm watching a lot of REAL stinkers these days. This flick was fine. Original? Hardly. Amy Adams is good and has a couple other names to help her out. Not bad IMO. Movie: 7.5 Video\Audio: 10 |
This current crop of movie-makers are banking - and $ banking $ , literally - on the current crop of movie-goers to have never watched the classic movies they are ripping-off The Netflix generation are going to this this is an original idea |
